M80 had been extremely impressive during the group stage and had topped their group with 11 points, but fell 1-2 to w7m esports in their first match in the upper bracket.
They began a lower bracket run by first eliminating regional rivals Spacestation Gaming in 2-0 fashion yesterday, but fell to G2 coach Fabian "Fabian" Hällsten's undefeated streak against North American teams that extended to 15-0 today.
M80 made G2 Esports sweat on the latter's own map pick of Villa, pushing proceedings to the 12th round, but could not replicate the magic on Oregon afterwards. G2 seemed largely in control throughout and took the win 7-4 to send M80 home.
